Not seeing the Law of Attraction results you expected? Read this …

Do you remember that first spark of hope you felt when you watched The Secret? Sat on your sofa, feeling dare I say it a bit desperate, tried everything and still nothing changes – sound familia? I clearly remember just how excited I got, knowing that – Yes, I can make my dreams come true – FINALLY!
But how many of you soon saw that hope dwindle into frustration? How many of you (and be honest now) started muttering things like:
- “How come it works for the guys in the film and not for me?”
- “Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Why isn’t it working all the time?”
- “Why can’t I do it when everyone else can”
- “I think the universe is against me.”
- “I’m trying very, VERY, VERY!!! hard – but still no results”
Don’t worry, you’re not alone. The truth is about 97% of people can’t make the Law of Attraction work for them the first time round. Why? Well just like anything else new you learn, you have to practice many times before you see success.
But – and I know this from personal experience - everything is easier said and done. It’s hard to stay positive, when you’re frustrated at the seemingly lack of results. And it’s especially harder to stay positive right now when the world seems such a negative place.
BUT you know what happens when you fail to stay positive. Yeap – you start attracting negative things in to your life.
So how can you make the Law of Attraction work for you? Well, here’s three quick tips to start you manefesting like a pro so you will never feel frustrated or tired of begging from the universe again.
1. Allow Yourself To Receive
Just like a lost child who approaches a police officer and asks, “Excuse me Sir, can you tell me how to go to the post office? Can you? Can you? Can you? Can you? Can you?” Well, if the child goes on and on asking, the police officer can’t even give an answer, right?
Well, it’s the same thing with your mind. If the only thing your mind is doing is transmit, transmit, transmit, the universe — which is trying to respond — can’t give you a single thing because you’re not allowing yourself to receive!
So, have the confidence in yourself and stop exhausting yourself by running around person to person begging for riches, and then wondering why nobody is dropping a penny in your cup (Hint: It’s because you’re running away too fast for them before they can even reach for their wallets).
Just think of your desires and leave it out there, go away, and trust that your cup will be filled with gold coins (or whatever it is you asked for) when the time is right.
2. Be Patient With Yourself
Receiving takes time.
Sadly, many people give up just a couple of steps before the finish line because they’ve decided that if it’s not working by now, it’s never going to work at all. Worse still are those who throw in more and more energy because they think that with more resources, the results will come faster.
This is like expecting 9 mothers to conceive and deliver a baby in 1 month. You also can’t bake cookies in half the time by doubling the temperature. You’ll incinerate those cookies to ashes!
In simple terms: Everything in this world has a natural development time, and this fact will not change no matter what resources you throw at it.
So relax and be patient. Remember that you too, as part of the universe, are also governed by the laws of the universe, and you cannot change the natural development time.
If you remember this, you will less likely work yourself up into frustration, or worse, push yourself into a downward spiral of negativity.
3. Support and Educate Yourself
Like the child who is learning how to walk, you need support. You also need to guidance on how to do it, and also the role models to look up to.
Many people give up because they think that “The Secret” is the “be all and end all” solution. Well, it’s NOT. “The Secret” is just a small portion. It was never intended, and has never been, the whole answer.
Coming to the conclusion that the Law of Attraction doesn’t work when all you ever did to educate yourself was watch “The Secret” 19 times (without looking at changing the habits of other areas of your life) is like coming to the conclusion that exercising is not an effective way to lose weight because all you did is run on the treadmill for 2 hours a day (but you’re still stuffing yourself with fried foods and cheesecakes).
So seek and be hungry for new knowledge. Also, make an effort to be amongst people or communities where you can support each other, learn from each other and also share new knowledge that you have found.
While the Law of Attraction is not an overnight delivery service, it WILL deliver, if you do your part too!

Article: Law of Attraction – The Key to Making it Work
Notice that I didn’t use the word “secret” since that work is way too overused and what I mean by “the key” is just another way to saying a method to making the law of attraction work for you. I’m going to try to explain it not a pseudo, new-age, quantum physics, or over complicated way of the law of attraction. I’m going to just try to explain it in the best way possible, in the easiest manner I can, so you can start using the law of attraction and apply it in your life.
The definition of law of attraction basically says that you will attract anything you think about.
I truly believe that if you apply the law of attraction right, then it the law really works.
There are probably and, I’m going to say, an infinite amount of examples, ways, scenarios, questions, problems that someone could go to disapproving the law of attraction.
For example, money and financial freedom is probably one of the most important, most talked about issue in our human lives. It is something that affects all of us in ways and how our current situation is. It is something that most everyone needs and wants to have.
So taking the law of attraction into this, I would probably imagine the most common conflicting question one would ask might be, “If someone sits in a chair all day and manifests thoughts about making a million dollars, will he or she ever get it?”
Well from a practically perspective, the answer becomes quite obvious. No.
If one sits in a chair all day and does not take action then it will be impossible for them to make a million dollars because they are doing nothing.
In a practical objective world, the law is that actions produces results. Would you disagree with that?
I take the time to pick lemons from a tree, make lemonade, then set up and stand and sell a drink to someone passing by for $1. The action I took to selling lemonade produced the result which was making $1.
I mean if the law of attraction worked wouldn’t everybody started getting what they wanted? All you would have to think about is what you want and it will start gravitating to you via universe or genie. However, thousands of people complain that they are thinking about what they want, but aren’t getting it.
· I’m attracting weight loss in my life but I’m still overweight…
· I’m attracting love in my life but I’m not still single…
· I’m attracting a new car in my life but I still drive my old, junkie car…
· I’m attracting happiness, but no matter what I always feel depressed…
These are all legit reasons and I understand why people would be in awe or praise the law of attraction but end up finding themselves in a conflicting, frustrated situation. I used to be the same way thinking, “Hey if I can use the law of attraction, I can attract anything in my life and viola, I’ll get it.” But nothing ever happened and I got frustrated saying the law doesn’t work, it sucks, etc.
The truth is the law of attraction is meant to be a tool to help you get what you want, it’s not some genie that pops out of nowhere and hands you what you want. But there are sometimes where you will get what you want instantly using the law of attraction (we’ll get to that later).
I’m a practical person myself. I believe in that when you do something, something happens. When you add 1 and 1, you get 2. And if you don’t take action, unfortunately, you won’t get results no matter how hard you think about getting what it is that you want. You may get lucky, and somehow it may be delivered to you someday, but why would you take the risk letting something outside of your being control when you get things. That’s silly. Do you want to wait five years until you get a new car? Do you want to wait ten years before you attract a loving spouse? Not really, right?
In today’s society, humans want to have instant gratification for whatever they want, they want it now! That’s why the law of attraction in the past few years has been so popular. It has almost brainwashed the entire new culture of people to believe that by using the law of attraction, we can more or less get what we want quickly without doing anything. This sounds good!
The truth is the law of attraction, more or less, operates as a law in subjective reality. This means the law works actually works in one’s mind. I would say that the law of attraction is absolutely everything in one’s mind because one might argue that everything in the universe from your perspective, or anyone else’s perspective, is just a thought – a thought – that’s all it is.
What does this exactly mean? It means that anything you are thinking about, at any second, is exactly what you are getting.
Now you may laugh and say, “I already knew that,” as I first did when I someone told me about the law of attraction and how whatever you think, you are getting. I didn’t believe it because I started to put everything into question, especially , from an objective and materialistic standpoint. Why am I not getting this? And “this” usually was with something materialistic – a t-shirt, money, better grades, etc.
And even from an emotional standpoint like why am I not getting happiness or joy, it was just a completely wrong approach. It was until months to a year later where I thought about the law of attraction it absolutely works wonders in a subjective reality. And when I got it, it just clicked. Being a practical person, it actually felt awe-inspiring, but scary at the same time. Why didn’t I think about this before?
And how you need to treat the law of attraction should be form a subjective standpoint, because if you try to put it in an objective standpoint, I can almost guarantee that you will get frustrated and nothing will make sense. So how does this work? It’s just what is stated above.
Anything you are thinking about, you are getting. To really understand, you should always keep this in your mind: be conscious of what you are thinking about in the moment.
If you think about it, it makes total sense in a different way – not in a mathematical way or in a practical way. It’s outside of that. 1 plus 1 equals 2, but in this reality, 1 plus 1 equals anything you want it to be. If you think 1 plus 1 equals 3, then it equals 3. You are attracting 3, and you are getting 3. Stop trying to make sense of it because if you say, it’s impossible for 1 plus 1 to equal 3, then that’s exactly what you are getting. If you think it’s impossible, than it is impossible and you are right.
If you try to solve this problem, and you become frustrated, then you are getting frustrated. You are attracting frustration, and you are creating your own frustration. Does this make sense?
Physical things that happen in your life and the law of attraction are not a function of each other. They are two different worlds, and it’s important that you step outside of the box. Think of everything in your life as a thought. This shouldn’t be scary, even though it freaked me out at first, but it’s worth experimenting because if you get the law of attraction down, your way of going about things about life will change dramatically.
For the better or for the worse, that’s up you. If you can have anything in the world or be anything in the world, which option would you want to pick?
So know you understand that the law of attraction works in a subjective reality, meaning that your current thought at this very moment is exactly what you are getting, than you can use it as a powerful, powerful tool to applying it in the objective world, an objective world where physical things become your reality because that is what you have truly chosen.
Let’s take a look at the examples from previous.
If someone told me:
· I’m attracting weight loss in my life but I’m still overweight…
I would answer, “Okay… that’s exactly what you are getting then. You are overweight because you just said it. And even if you really didn’t believe that yourself, are you really attracting weight loss? Or are you just attracting the words “weight” and “loss.” If you’re attracting the weight loss, maybe you are getting weight loss but just not in the way that you thought you would. And if you really thought about the true meaning of weight loss, you wouldn’t be sitting here doing nothing. You would take action. In addition, you should be attracting the action it takes that leads to weight loss such as running on a treadmill, going to the gym, eating healthy, etc.”
If someone told me:
· I’m attracting love in my life but I’m not still single…
I would answer, “It’s a good thing that you are intending love in your life. Be patient and ask yourself are you really thinking about attracting love in your life or do you feel any doubt that you can’t or cannot. Is there something from the past that has made you want this and are you carrying thoughts from that past into your being right now. You need to eliminate all negative thoughts. In addition, thinking about being a loving person or a person that easily can be loved by others will help you find love. You will get there.
If someone told me:
· I’m attracting a new car in my life but I still drive my old, junkie car…
I would answer, “Well, stop imagining yourself ever driving your old, junkie car if you have any thoughts about that. Every time you are driving you’re car, you should be imagining yourself driving the car you want. If you keep having those dominant thoughts, your feelings will take over and you will start to take action to getting the car you want.
If someone told me:
· I’m attracting happiness, but no matter what I always feel depressed…
I would say, are you really attracting happiness, or are you saying you are attracting happiness but really inside you are feeling depression? There is no faking happiness. If you feel any, any sort of doubt that you are not happy, then that is what you will get. Sometimes you will be able to change your emotions just by thinking about your thoughts instantly and that is what you will attract. However, you must realize that they have to be your dominating thoughts and you have to have faith and patience that happiness will eventually come to you.
If you really think about it, it is truly what you want, your body will take action subconsciously. The results will come to you when you know what it is that you want. You can make it an easy path by attracting an easy path or a hard path by attracting a hard path. If you are groaning right now because you didn’t like that answer, then I can’t stop you that has just become your reality.
But if you think hey maybe I this makes sense and may help you, then it will. Or anything else you think about from what you just read, than it is. Your answer does not affect me, it is only affecting you.
I just want to get the message out to you to be conscious of you to have the ability to choose, intend, and manifest whatever it is you want in life. It’s a cross path between subjective reality and objective reality that’s why the law of attraction is so hard to explain for people who don’t get it.
I hope you start to think, really think about every single thing that goes on in your life and take a moment to step back and realize that you are attracting or getting what you are currently thinking about.

Ready to give up on the Law of Attraction? Read this first.
I know. I’ve been there. I’ve done all the things the Guru’s told me to do … I’ve visualised, I’ve tapped, I’ve forgiven until I’m blue in the face … so why’s nothing changed?
Good question. I started studying and applying the law of attraction (or should I rightly say laws of attraction) just about two years ago. For the first eighteen months nothing happened, at least nothing seemed to happen. Then the last six months whoosh, boy have things changed but not in the way you imaging, but that’s another story.
So what was the problem in the first eighteen months. Well if you’ve done any reading around the Law of Attraction the answer is plain and simple – me. The answer is always ‘me’ and it has to be. One of the core principles of the Law of Attraction is that you take full responsibility for EVERYTHING you experience in your life; no matter what it is, no matter who did or said what, you take responsibility. Not for the event or situation – unless it was your action – but how you feel and act in response to that event or situation.
So how did ‘me’ get in the way those first eighteen months? Well it was this – I didn’t actually know what I really wanted
I’d start writing my list of desires (as instructed) and yep, fell straight into the expected things; the money, the houses, the cars, the body, the relationships, the pets, the holidays … and on and on. I visualised ‘being’, cut pictures out of magazines for my vision board, looked for groups and meetings of ‘like minded, positive people’, wrote my gratitude list (which I still do) and began practicing releasing techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique and the Sedona Method (my own brand of which I still practice regularly).
So what’s wrong with that picture? Well technique wise I’d like to say ‘nothing’ but that list of desires, that wasn’t what I truly wanted, what truly delighted me. You see after almost twenty years of working (pretty much to the exclusion of anything else) in corporate land, rising to the top of the pile, I had strayed so far away from the path I had no idea what I truly wanted or indeed who I truly was. I didn’t know anymore what really made me happy, what ignited true passion and motivation in me.
My initial first list was a conscious list, it was a in my head list and it didn’t match my unconscious, in my heart list. Because these two weren’t aligned I was doing nothing but treading. What triggers the Law of Attraction isn’t our fleeting, mental thoughts but our deep heart felt thoughts – our convictions – what we know to be true.
So how did I uncover these deep heart felt convictions? It isn’t glamorous; in fact to be honest it was a long, tedious, repetitive, frustrating journey of asking the same question and writing down the answer over and over and over again. This answer kept changing. My lists would have this on it or that on it, until one day the answer didn’t change and for all the days after that the answer didn’t change and try as I might (and for some reason I did try) the answer wouldn’t budge. Nothing else felt right.
That was the point when I knew what it was I truly wanted. Not forever, I’ll continue to grow and a day will come when my desires change again. But for now I absolutely know and my daily practices of visualising, releasing, planning and action has all been grounded in an authentic desire. Oh and there’s not a new house or new car on my desires list now.
That’s how ‘me’ was in the way of me. I could easily have given up during those first eighteen months and I do think perhaps I was an extreme case, but don’t give up on the Law of Attraction before you’ve really found out what it is YOU truly want.

Most of the material here is given in a straightforward manner, with the presenters simply talking into the camera to address the audience directly, which is good because it avoids the trap of pretense. On the other hand, the quick edits between presenters (would it hurt to let them say more than one sentence at a time?) don’t help because it reduces many of their points to palatable sound bites and aphorisms. To many viewers, this may make the program come across as a series of nice ideas not rooted in reality. Plus it’s somewhat spurious to claim that The Secret was well understood and practiced by specific individuals like Plato or Shakespeare (it’s well known that some of the historical figures noted didn’t exactly live happy or even prosperous lives, despite their achievements). But still, the primary message is one of positivity and hope for everyone. So what to make of it? In the end, programs like this generally find an audience that is open to the message, and many will probably find it to be a source of inspiration. Others will approach it with a good deal of skepticism or dismiss it as another way of marketing happiness the masses. It simply won’t resonate with everyone, but if it resonates with you, you’re likely to enjoy it and get a lot out of it.
